Reaching the End
A few beautiful verses to just reflect and this is only if your iman is alive and you can see and comprehend:
It is Allah who has created seven heavens and of the earth, the like of them. [His] command descends among them so you may know that Allah is over all things competent and that Allah has encompassed all things in knowledge. (Al Qur'an 65:12)
And I will give them time. Indeed, my plan is firm. (Al Qur'an 7:183)
And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm. (Al Qur'an 68:45)
It is very easy to digress and forget ourselves when drowning in the splendour of this life. We become arrogant because of our health, body, beauty, material status and intelligence. We forget who we are, and who we are dealing with. Whereas in the blink of an eye, an accident, bad news, a situation, disease or death can turn everything upside down. In a second, Allah can change our conditions. These changes will occur as a certainty of life.
If I am a mu'min, I should be living in a state of fear for this inevitable change. I should prepare myself by getting closer to Allah, seeking His rahmah, doing good deeds the maximum of my abilities with the intention for Allah to save me when a situation arises.
However, the majority of mankind will become blind and increasingly arrogant until they forget themselves and who they are dealing with.
"… and mankind was created weak." (Al Qur'an 4:28)
We are much more vulnerable than we realise. A virus is so small that it can only be seen through the aid of high powered microscopes. Yet, this microscopic and insignificant being can paralyze, cause disease and death to the healthiest of us. A mosquito or insect bite can be fatal. In fact even cancer, is caused by own cells turning against each other! We are essentially powerless against many things.
However, human beings are so arrogant and oppressive to themselves that they forget their own weaknesses and vulnerabilities. We see natural disasters, such as landslides, tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanos, floods, hurricanes, and other signs which should be our wake up calls, but we don't pay attention.
This is why the believer should walk on this earth with humbleness and humility, scared of this moment. This is what gives him the quality, perseverance and patience.
When we are young we think we will be muscular forever. When we are healthy we forget that tomorrow you can be ill. When we are beautiful we don't realise that we will lose our beauty and body shapes. All conditions will and must change. Ultimately, no matter how much we care about your health, we will die. These principles, consciousness and constitutions of the way we govern our thoughts and actions when dealing with ourselves and others, is called taqwa to Allah. Allah wants us to be aware of our own poverty and weakness against Him.
O mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. If He wills, He can do away with you and bring forth a new creation. And that is for Allah not difficult. (Al Qur'an 35:15 – 35:17)
