Deception and Heedlessness
We are caught in the cycle and imprisonment of the whole system of mass deception. Nobody is immune, free, aware or alert and wants to get out because of the massive heedlessness and blindness.
Where does heedlessness and blindness come from.In summary, these are torture in this life to those who decided to blind their eyes from the message. You can read the article on heedlessness but in gist, any time one is too occupied by the worldly life and material pursuits, and forget who he is, the purpose in life, death and the hereafter, he will enter a state of heedlessness. It is a status that is hard to escape from because he is not alert to being in it in the first place. It is not like a sin, where once we commit it, we know it’s wrong, feel bad and then make taubah and try to escape that state of sin. Those who are living in a state of heedlessness and blindness are so immersed that they are not aware that they are heedless, so they don’t realise they have to make taubah. This is a severe punishment from Allah to those who forget the purpose of life, and indulge in the amusement and mirages of this life instead.
Can I escape, or how can I escape?
You can escape from deception if Allah allows you to see the real news and to wake up.
What is the real news? It is death, natural disasters, killings, massive oppression, illness, ageing, deteriorating health. If Allah loves you, He will allow you to wake up and make a U turn and start seeking the news of the hereafter, which is death and life after death: the main belief that differentiates between a Muslim and a non Muslim.
They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware. Do they not contemplate within themselves? Allah has not created the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a specified term. And indeed, many of the people, in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord, are disbelievers. Have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? They were greater than them in power, and they plowed the earth and built it up more than they have built it up, and their messengers came to them with clear evidences. And Allah would not ever have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves. (Al Quran 30:7 – 30:9)
The above represent the majority of the population today, Muslim and non-Muslim. They are drugged by the surrounding and environment, which envelopes them in massive deception.
How can I escape from all this deception? It is simpler than you imagine. Our beloved Prophet SAW emphasized that the only way to escape all the fitnah and all the deception at the end of time is by holding tight to the Qur’an and his teachings.
You must be thinking that this is nothing new, it’s not a ground breaking solution.
In reality however, we are all distant from the real teachings of the Qur’an and sunnah. We observe a thin layer of rituals, and that’s it. So thin that it does not even take up 5% of our daily lifestyles. We perform all the rituals of worship, fasting, salat, zakat, hajj and umrah, but the proportion of time and the amount of dedication we put into it is very small, just a fraction of our overall time.
The majority of our time and the priority of actions are swallowed by thoughts, love, values, ambitions, desires, and achievements, which are all material. Our daily routine is to chase, from the time we wake up to go to work, or wake up to tend to the children so that they are also groomed to chase dunia. We are so removed from living the Qur’an and Sunnah from within, that competition, envy, comparison and jealousy afflict our hearts with diseases. Where are the hereafter, death, and the purpose of life in most of our daily actions? Where is the Muslim who is supposed to establish justice on earth and spread mercy and guidance to mankind? How much time do we invest on that? Only a few words and a few links, and then we dive again into the deep material life in most of our 24 hours.
To get out, you have to be serious. Visit the graves if you have to, in order to remember death, be aware of the real journey of faith, and genuinely learn the purpose of life. Escape as far as you can from the environment of heedlessness, and start on the journey of seeking knowledge, truth, to generate awareness. Get in touch with those who have these qualities, make a lot of du’a and ask Allah SWT to save, guard and rescue you. Be silent and don’t talk without purpose (this also includes what you type online). Train yourself to be a thinker, to always ask yourself the consequences of your actions and where you are going from here.
The road can be rough and you may stumble, but Allah wants you to make the effort and trust Him. He will take your hand, support you and guide you until you leave the earth with a legacy which will be witness to you and not against you. Remember that, think about it and try to live it because we are going to die. It is not if, but when. This is the truth. No deception about it.
We are responsible for changing the situation and for eradicating the deception. We are responsible for ourselves, family members, society and mankind. We are responsible to live and carry out the message and to do the utmost to spread the mercy and guidance to mankind, and to alleviate the suffering and establish justice and mercy on earth. Please don’t simply read this and think that’s all you need to do. Develop a sense of urgent responsibility. Make du’a, make an effort and start to think about the responsibility you bear, because you will be questioned on whether you fulfilled it or not. We are all responsible.
Reported by Nu`man bin Bashir (RA): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The likeness of the man who observes the limits prescribed by Allah and that of the man who transgresses them is like the people who get on board a ship after casting lots. Some of them are in its lower deck and some of them in its upper (deck). Those who are in its lower (deck), when they require water, go to the occupants of the upper deck, and say to them: `If we make a hole in the bottom of the ship, we shall not harm you.’ If they (the occupants of the upper deck) leave them to carry out their design they all will be drowned. But if they do not let them go ahead (with their plan), all of them will remain safe”. [Bukhari].
