The final story in Surah Al Kahf is in relation to Dhul-Qarnayn. This story, including the story of the People of the Cave, was revealed in response to the efforts by the Jews of Mecca to discredit Rasulullah SAW. Their scholars had knowledge of certain tales only known to the religious elite amongst them, and they challenged Rasulullah SAW by giving him certain key words and asking him to describe these stories in full to prove that he was indeed a Prophet.
The end of the story of Isa AS is shrouded in controversy between the Muslims and the Christians. Apart from the concept of the trinity (which is strongly refuted in Muslim scriptures), Christian doctrines claim that Isa AS was crucified: to the extent that the cross or the crucifix is accepted as the symbol of Christianity. According to the Muslim teachings, Isa AS was neither killed nor crucified, but was raised to heaven.
Maryam AS, the mother of Isa AS
The final prophet descended from Bani Israel (from the lineage of Ishaq AS, the son of Ibrahim AS) ended with one of the most prominent figures in human history, Isa (Jesus) AS. He was the last of the prophets of Bani Israel and no prophet existed between him and the final Prophet and Messenger, Muhammad (SAW), who was descended from Ibrahim's AS first son, Ismail AS.
